As the Fall Wedding Season approaches we are asked what favors are best for fall weddings.
Question to ask:
1. What do you prefer, flower, tree or herb.
- for Flowers you can do Flower Bulb Favors, they are really beautiful and tulips, iris and daffodil are ONLY available in the fall so take advantage of the season.
- For Trees the best choice is Tree Seedlings, Fall is one of the best time to plant trees , they get a chance to establish themselves before winter sets |
if you would rather not deal with seedlings ( they arrive about a week before the wedding date) tree seed kits are also popular in the Fall. They can be planted and grown indoors for up to a year
- For Herbs Fall is a wonderful time of year to plant herbs inside for some greenery and cooking . Choose Kits as you get everything you need to grow the herbs. Basil , Chives, Thyme

Give herb favors for fall weddings and they will created sweet smelling scents for your wedding guests long after the day.
2. What about the seed in eco box kits, will they work for Fall Weddings?
- The seed kits will work any time of year because you get everything you need to grow the seeds. Some of the seeds grow faster like the sunflower and would have to be re-potted when the seedlings get to be about 2 inches in height. You could always plant a few of the seeds in the fall ( there is alot of seed/packet) and store the rest in your refrigerator for spring planting.
3. Will the seeds last until the spring if we give them out in the fall?
- absolutely they will. seed packet 2 x 2″ (number of seeds vary with species – 5 – 10 grams)
- seed packets are presented in hermetically sealed foil packets to preserve freshness
We offer quality seed. Seed is packed frequently and stored in coolers on site. Store seed in your refrigerator, or cool, dry area prior to your event date for the best germination . Seed packets can be stored in your refrigerator for up to 1 year .
4 . For Seed Packet Favors what works?
- there is a tremdous selection in the seed packet favor category: colors, designs, formates: most of the seed packets can accomodate flower and herb seed: for flower seed to plant in the ground we recommend wildflowers . They are allperennials and will come back every year in your garden. They do not necessarily bloom the first year anyway so you are not missing much by planting them late in the season.

Flower Petals seed wedding favors are a popular choice for fall weddings, paired with tree, flower or herb seed their natural elegance makes a wonderful table decoration and unique wedding favor guest gift.
For a indoor grower we recommend gerber daisy in a seed packet or kit. They need warm conditions to grow so a sunny window in a warm area in your house works well.
This video may help understand their nature. They are beautiful but a slow growing flower, will grow slower in the fall and winter but could be good to move outdoors next summer for the flowering.

Make your White Wedding, Greener When planning your wedding you want to make it a special day that showcases your love for your spouse. But…more

Green and white should be seen with flowers
Make your White Wedding, Greener
When planning your wedding you want to make it a special day that showcases your love for your spouse. But what about showing your love for the environment as well?
With all eyes on you, your wedding day is the perfect time to let those closest to you know how much you care. A little extra thought and preparation can make your wedding a day to remember, without taking its toll on the World around you.
Here are some things to consider when planning a green wedding –
Wedding Venue
When you think of all the guests that will be coming to celebrate your day with you, remember that that also means that many of them with have to travel to be with you. This will generate carbon emissions. While this might be unavoidable, try to lessen the impact by having the ceremony and reception at the same location.
The Perfect Dress
Little girls grow up dreaming about their wedding dress and it should be special… but that doesn’t mean ‘new’. A vintage wedding dress is not only eco-friendly and money saving but a very fashionable option as well. Trawl second hand shops for vintage gems and look online as well. Ebay may be an unlikely place to find your perfect dress but we’ve heard of lots of brides finding unique beauties.
Flowers
You might have a favourite flower that you want to include in your wedding but have you considered if that flower is in season and grown natively? If not then they may have to be grown in hot houses. As an alternative, why not ask a florist to source only flowers grown locally? Better yet, collect flowers grown in friends and families gardens for a truly personal bouquet.
Food
Think about air miles when selecting what food to feed your guests. Choose food that is in season and grown locally. You might also like to consider foods that are organic or a completely vegetarian or vegan menu.
Transport
If you want to be transported to your wedding venue in style, forget the car choose a horse and carriage instead. No fuel emissions there! If you’re an avid cyclist, how about arriving on a tandem bicycle? Maybe you fancy being carried aloft in an Egyptian style sedan chair?! Whatever eco transport you choose, it’s bound to be memorable.
So there we have it, some simple ways to make your white wedding that little bit greener! Whatever you choose, make sure it is personal to you and your spouse and have an amazing day.

There is a growing trend toward greener and more environmentally responsible weddings. This article explores the reasons behind this trend.
For many years, brides have tried to outdo one another with larger and larger weddings, with bigger and bigger guest lists and ever more elaborate settings. But over the past several years there has been a new trend afoot. Modern brides are looking for a way to make their special day greener and more environmentally friendly.
While hard data is sometimes difficult to find, the anecdotal evidence suggests that there has been a sharp rise in the number of green weddings. Brides seem to be looking at the environmental impact of every aspect of their lives, from what they eat and what they wear to how they celebrate the special days in their lives.
Some brides go all out with their green weddings, planning vegan and raw food meals for the reception and making sure their dresses are either vintage or made from recycled materials. Others simply add a few green touches to their normal ceremonies, substituting bird seed for rice at the church or handing out tree seedlings or seed packets as favors at the reception.
The trend toward green weddings shows no signs of slowing down, so if you are planning your own nuptials it is a good idea to explore how those green touches can make your special day even better. Making a few simple touches in your wedding preparation and planning can help you, and the environment.

Eco-romantics about to tie the knot pay attention: Green Prophet has the scoop on making your day of love as green as possible without compromising on romance and style. From mass weddings in the Middle East to intimate ceremonies in your own backyard, here are 7 ways to leave a smaller carbon footprint when you walk down the aisle together.
- If you are exchanging rings, consider giving heirloom jewels or ethically mined and harvested diamonds, gold, gens and platinum.
- Wear vintage gowns and suits or those made from eco-fabrics.
- Use locally grown, pesticide free wildflowers and natural materials to decorate.
- Serve food and beverages made from organic, locally harvested produce and vineyards.
- If the wedding is to be indoors, rent out a building that is built to greener standards, or one that donates a percentage of profits to environmental causes.
- Consider a museum, an art gallery, botanical garden, historical home or cultural center for the reception.
- As much as possible, consider how you can minimize the power requirements of your wedding by maximizing the use of natural lighting and cooling/heating options.
- Instead of gifts, have your guests donate money to environmental or other causes that are important to the bride and groom.
- If you are going to give your guests any party favors, make theme eco-conscious. Candles made from soy, small planted seedlings, chocolate or other tasty morsel provided by a vendor that engages in conscious commerce.
We promised you seven, but we gave you eight. That’s because eco-weddings are about giving back more to your niche in this world.
Going green is chic, fashionable, timely and likely to make you and your guests remember your wedding as something different from the norm. Give
more in the ways that matter, and less in the ways that are wasteful.

Peacock weddings are fun and unique, add a touch of blue and “green” with earth-friendly wedding favors like trees or flowers seeds as a memory of your Wedding Day.
Want a unique wedding theme and love peacocks? Put the two together and have an elegant peacock wedding using the brilliant colors of blue and green as an accent to your day. Having a peacock themed wedding is a way to step away from a traditional setting and make the wedding more personalized and fun. From invitations, decorations, thank you cards, and even the favors. grow with it – Outdoor weddings are taking off. The photography is exceptional and the expense is minimal.
Outdoor weddings are extremely popular among couples who want to incorporate nature into their celebrations and share their love of the outdoors with their guests. In addition to encouraging loved ones to give back to the earth, there are many great reasons to give tree seedlings or seed packets as wedding favors.
They are symbolic of the couples growing love, they are versatile and easy to personalize, and they are budget-friendly and simple to make.
Not just for spring or summer weddings, seeds or tree seedlings make thoughtful, green, favors any time of the year. While most are easy to assemble and personalize, it helps to choose a flower or tree that will be easy for your guests to plant and maintain.
The symbolism of planting seedlings is unmistakable. It is a romantic reminder for your guests that your love will grow indefinitely. They can wish you well each year as they witness the growth of the flowers or trees that they planted in your honor.
Your options aren’t limited to seed packets. You can give out bulbs in votive candles, for example, creating an attractive table centerpiece or place setting, as well as a favor. Think beyond traditional plants and consider herbs, or surprise guests by placing seeds in matchbooks instead of matches.
Finally, you will inspire your guests to think “green” and plant for a greener tomorrow. Earth-friendly favors can be accented with containers as simple as a paper packet or as elegant as a small bamboo box or metal tin. The important part is to make them a representation of your love and a remembrance of your special day.

tips for a greener wedding, a growing trend.
Many brides in the modern world are looking for a way to make their weddings more unique, and more environmentally responsible. This trend toward green weddings has been growing for a number of years, and environmentally responsible weddings are expected to gain further traction going forward. If you are getting married and planning your own wedding, there are some things you can do to make your own celebration greener and more environmentally friendly.
Just use these tips for a greener and more environmentally responsible wedding day: Outdoor wedding photograhpy is beautiful, let nature be your decorator!
Choose locally grown flowers in season. Buying flowers from far away means that they must be shipped thousands of miles, which wastes precious fossil fuels and increases your environmental impact.
Print your wedding invitations, place cards and menus on recycled paper. You can find some great invitations and other printed materials, all from companies that use recycled paper.
Wear a family heirloom wedding gown, or pick up a dress from your local vintage clothing store. Vintage wedding gowns are sure to be unique, and they are a green alternative to traditional wedding garb.
Give your guests bird seed hearts to hang in your yards and feed the birds, instead of rice. Birds can be harmed when they ingest dry grains of rice and it expands in their stomachs. If you want to include confetti in your celebration, choose a variety made with recycled paper.
Give environmentally friendly party favors like seed packets and tree seedlings to the guests at your rehearsal dinner, wedding and reception. Your guests will think of you and your wedding day every time they look at their gardens or back yards.

celebration you new beginnings with tulip favors Think new life. Think blooming flowers. Think Spring as new life emerges from winter’s hibernation. Tulips are always…more
Think new life. Think blooming flowers. Think Spring as new life emerges from winter’s hibernation. Tulips are always a sure sign that spring has arrived.
But to have the joy of blooming flowers in the spring, the flower bulbs need to be planted in the fall.
Autumn is the time for planting the bulbs that will burst into bloom come spring. Its delayed gratification but the cheery appearance of tulips and daffodils an end of a bleak winter is worth the wait.
The best part. Planting flower bulbs doesn’t take much effort. You dig a hole, and drop in the bulbs and cover with soil. Give you guests flower bulbs for a unique wedding favor that will bloom year after year reminding them of your special day.

Plant a tree in the fall for the best results.
Did you know 2 mature trees provide enough oxygen for a family of 4?
Half of the world’s forests have disappeared.
Tree planting is the most cost effective way to reduce the CO2 in the atmosphere and cool down the earth’s temperature.
Planting 30 trees will remove a person’s carbon debt for that year.
What can you do?
Small changes in your life routine can add up to big differences in helping to help the earth. It is difficult to believe that one person and planting one little tree can make a difference. But it can, and planting trees is an easy, fun way to contribute to greening your town.
The presentation of a tree at a special event is a tremendous gift. A wonderful opportunity to inspire, promote and plant trees for a Greener Tomorrow. By giving Trees as Favors at their Weddings, brides and grooms will set an example and possibly inspire their guests. Meaningful gifts create “growing memories” that last a lifetime.
