Known for its amazing fall golden color this landscape tree grows best in moist soil. It has tremendous winter interest for its beauty and grows to 70 feet. The paper birch is easily recognized for its peeling white bark, which actually did find historical use as a paper substitute. An alternate common name for the tree is canoe birch. The bark, which can be peeled in large wide strips, was valued for construction of canoes. Paper birch is a tree of the north woods, very cold tolerant, with most of its range in the northern United States and in Canada . secret favors
We loved these favors. They matched one of our colors and we added the ribbon for the pink. So we had green and pink. You really need something to get them to stand up so that was a bit of a challenge. We finally did some twigs in a pot surrounded by rocks and hung the favors like ornaments. I also liked the secrect compartment. It was like a riddle for our guests to figure out what these hanging ornaments were. It was fun.
